Light-based treatments target different chromophores in the skin which absorb the light energy as heat for desired response to unwanted pigmentation and blood facial vessels. The appearance of sun spots, age spots, spider veins, rosacea and capillaries can be reduced. Treatment time can be as short as 30 minutes, depending on the area treated. Excellent results can be achieved within one or two treatments, but for best results several treatments may be required.
After the first session you will notice visible results, however I recommend a series of treatments in succession to achieve optimum results.
HOW WILL INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL) IMPROVE MY SKIN?
IPL is one of the most effective treatments for removing pigmentation (brown spots and sunspots.) It can also reduce diffused redness and rosacea, leaving your skin younger and fresher. IPL stimulates the cells responsible for producing collagen, thereby improving the texture of your skin, refining the size of your pores and diminishing the appearance of fine lines. It is ideal for the face, neck and chest and for the backs of the hands.
WHO DOES IT SUIT?
IPL is ideal if you are noticing colour changes in your skin, such as redness or pigmentation. It is not suitable for darker skin colours. It is recommended that you attend a comprehensive consultation with Shaylah before booking your appointment.
WHAT HAPPEN DURING THE TREATMENT?
Upon booking your initial instructions are provided to ensure you have a full understanding of the treatment, treatment protocols and the before and after care. At your appointment the treatment area is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected. A cooled gel is applied to the skin and eye protection is provided to the technician and client. Depending on your specific skin concerns 1-3 passes of light will be applied to the treatment area. The gel is removed and depending on the time of your appointment either sunscreen or night cream. You will need to follow your post care instructions correctly for the best results.
The Rejuv Room offers the latest in IPL technology with our Active Optical Solutions 818 being the gold standard in aesthetics equipment. Our IPL treatments are more comfortable than ever (gone are the days of feeling like a rubber band is snapping against your face! Ouch!). During treatment is slight warming and prickly sensation. Post treatment will be a flushed red appearance and feeling but that will be minimal if you follow your post care instructions.
